Bonnie Burell

BONNIE BURRELL, one of
the original members of the NGOMA Group, was born Bonita Louise Burrell in
Chicago, Illinois. Bonnie has been singing all her life and attributes
her love for a variety of music to her parents who always had music in
their home. Besides her alliance with NGOMA, Bonnie still actively sings
in her parish, St. Dorothy Church, in Chicago. Bonnie was voted Best
Popular Singer at Triton College in Illinois (1982) and represented one of
Chicago's Park Districts at a Music Showcase (1983), performing in the
James C. Petrillo Music Shell - Grant Park. Bonnie has also performed the
National Anthem for both the Chicago Bulls and the Chicago White Sox and
has performed on various radio stations and in numerous musicals
throughout the Chicagoland area. Besides her relentless love for singing,
Bonnie is a die-hard Chicago White Sox fan and long-time season ticket
holder. Her musical inspirations are Barbra Streisand, Sarah Vaughn, Nat
King Cole, Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra and the original Temptations, to
name a few. |
